Life Partner – There’s a time in everyone’s life (at least most people) when we want to love, Its just natural with us -even animals love! (lol) Love is so natural with us that even after we suffer heartbreaks, we still fall right back in love. There was a time finding the right person to love wasn’t really much of a big deal because, I mean, there were potential good specs around. However, the world is becoming increasingly busy and the implication of this is that we are beginning to find it hard to make time for things that matter. We get so busy trying to make money, build a name for ourselves, get recognitions and stuffs like that, that we fail to track the passage of time and it always seem that we only suddenly realize when it is almost too late that we are behind schedule maritally.
Social media – we suddenly realize we are behind schedule and we try to make up for the lost time. So, we go to the internet to find love. A lot of people are setting up a meet and greets after connecting on various social media platforms, some people are doing well at it but you know, the social media is a very porous platform and so the number of people who get ‘burnt’ outnumbers those who eventually find love.
Why go through this stress as a graduate of whatever institution when you could have easily settled that aspect of your life while in school?
The truth is that the world isn’t as it used to be and so we have to be intentional about every aspect of our lives. No one will teach you how to sell yourself to your prospective employer in school and so you’d have to learn that skill yourself. Just as you should make plans for your work life as well as financial life, you should also plan for your marital life. Here are five reasons why you should choose a life partner in school:
- Opportunity to Choose
Back in school, you have the liberty of choosing anyone that fits your dream spouse. The truth is we all have a picture of our perfect spouse and what better place to choose that one person we want to spend the rest of our lives and who also fits our spec as on campus? There’s no limitation as to choice.
- You also get to meet people for who they are
There’s so much pretence in our world today. A larger chunk of the population is living fake life’s – a lot of people are claiming to be what they are not, financially and character-wise. Getting into a relationship while in school, offers you the opportunity of discovering who exactly your partner is. You get to see their good, bad and ugly side. You get to see them in their low and high moments. It offers you the opportunity to make up your mind if your partner is the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.
- You are also afforded the opportunity to grow together
You are also afforded the opportunity to grow together when you choose your partner in school.
- It takes off the pressures of finding a partner after school
The pressure is coming from the family, from friends, from religious circles, basically, everyone is asking you after school- ‘so, when are you getting married?’ The truth is, a lot of bachelors and spinsters alike go for events these days just to find the right ‘catch’. People are coming off age and they begin to fear that they may not get someone to share the rest of their life’s with. You don’t need this. You can very well save yourself from this pressure by being intentional about relationships while in school.
- You also get to build your work life and schedule together
Finding the right person on time can help you determine the kind of work you can do and the jobs you can take. You two get to plan your life ahead. While your other colleagues are still struggling to figure out what they want to do with themselves, you are already breaking grounds in all aspect of your life.
Good looks and a great personality aren’t all you need today to get the spouse of your dreams. In addition, you need to plan and be intentional about your marital life. Love is a beautiful thing when you adequately plan for it. Don’t wait till people have to matchmake or set up blind dates for you. Your marital life is as serious as every other aspect of your life.
